Most of these teachings originate from a thought, a phrase, a word or two from scripture that just jumps out at me. Strangely it usually come in a “title format or an image” that I just begin to dig out of the scriptures. This thought came from when specific individual) about a specific situation. Acts 5: 3 says “Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and hold back part of the price of land for yourself?” The word hold back was the catalyst of this entire article. That and the backdrop of thoughts from 1 Cor 2:4 which says…I do not preach with persuasive words of men’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power!!”
The early church seemed to be filled with such events, as if they were just common in the life of the new believers. And sadly, today we look around and the church in many cases while they still pursue knowledge, seemed to have placed the Holy Spirit on the sideline, relegating Him to being just a spectator whom they are trying to entertain.
A very sad place to be, continuing to operate with no unction, guidance or power!!!!!!! My thought was what has happened to the church since this story was pinned in the Bible?? As always, it is my prayer that this has challenged you to have a stronger open relationship with God.
