Is it Time for New Wine?

This teaching comes from my own struggles with the changes that God had brought into my life soon after returning to the Lord. I was raised in a strongly traditional Baptist church, and the things of the Spirit were almost taboo in a daily approach and relationship with God. Even at times being taught that the gifts of the Spirit had passed and were for a former time. Never have found that scripture verse that makes that link or connection. I was trapped in what was familiar, safe and explainable, all things that hinder future growth. Remember vividly being prompted to the altar yet finding myself defending and justifying my current spiritual position. The Spirit clearly said to me; “Will you be able to stand before me one day and justify your reason for resisting this change that I am calling you to?? THAT BECAME MORE AND MORE DIFFICULT TO DEFEND!!

The Bible says “that we are to go from glory to glory: (2 Cor 3:16-18) Being transformed into a walking advertisement for Christ, our lives being a living example of a changed life. That is very difficult to do if we do not allow the Spirit to transform us, Change is inevitable!! Whether we understand it, or if we can explain it, We are just to trust God’s leading, and in the process, most times after the process comes the understanding.

God completed this topic several weeks ago, and it came very easy since I had walked through all the steps of acceptance personally over the last twenty years. As always, it is my prayer that this has challenged you to have a stronger open relationship with God.
