How Quickly We Forget

This subject comes from personal experience and the honest confessions of fellow believers that I am walking out this spiritual journey with. Do I believe it is possible to always stay on the positive side of faith, trials, and tribulations?? Absolutely!! But for many, we sometimes find ourselves in a cave, or at the very least bowing to the pressures of life. As they say, “life happens!!” to all of us from time to time. The Bible has a lot to say about us being an overcomer and being victorious, but we do not always feel that way. There could be many reasons for this but to paint a broad brush over this topic, we are human. The constant tug of our flesh just means that we are to stay in constant training and focus, drawing near to God at all times.

The term overcomer is especially prominent in the book of Revelation, where Jesus encourages His people to remain steadfast through the trials of life. Rev 2:26,3:21 and 21:7. Also Roms 8:37-38 tells us it is written: “for your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all things we are more than conqueror’s through Him who loved us. Elijah seemed to have forgotten this after God’s great victory, and the part that he played in it as well. He was the messenger as well as the one with the faith which activated the entire confrontation. God just had his back!!!

As always, it is my prayer that this has challenged you to have a stronger open relationship with God.
